Last July 17th, Crankers Antique Car Club sponsored a charity car show to benefit Massachusetts Chapter 55, of the DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS, which services the cities of Agawam, West Springfield, and Westfield, MA.
The DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS is a non-profit organization founded in 1920 after World War One, long before there was a Veterans Administration or any other “government safety nets” for our veterans. Their office is still staffed by all volunteer disabled veterans donating time and effort to assist other disabled wounded service men and women. When the government cut funding for transporting patients to the VA Hospital, these folks car pooled to insure no one needing treatment missed their medical appointment at VA facilities, often at great distances from here. They are committed to being advocates, in any capacity, for disabled veterans and their families.
Plans for a 2012 Disabled American Veterans' Car Show are already in place, and we look forward to promoting an even larger, more successful event later this year. Our fundraiser was an unqualified success, raising much needed funds to help serve the disabled veterans in our community. It was a beautiful day and the show was well attended. At this time, we would like to thank everyone who made the 2011 event possible by devoting their time, energy, and services to this fundraiser.
We thank the many club members , attendees, and disabled veterans who devoted their spare time and donations to make the event a success. We also wish to extend a special "thank you" to the various corporate sponsors whose generous donations proved instrumental in making a significant contribution to this worthy cause.

Massachusetts Chapter 55, DAV
We apologize, in advance, to anyone we may have neglected to mention above. Many club members did a great deal behind the scenes. A great thank you also goes to all who came out that day with their collector cars. They provided the viewing public with a variety of interesting stock and custom automobiles to enjoy throughout the day. Those in attendance with or without cars to display also were essential to help us raise the much needed funds donated to the Disabled American Veterans.
The 2012 DAV Car Show Fundraiser
is tentatively scheduled for
July 15, 2012
Our hope is to make the 2012 show bigger and more successful!
Further information on this event will be available soon.
